The cities are going to get worse. The criminals are emboldened and they don't fear prison or the police. The real bad times will begin when you see arson rising.
  • You put links to specific acts of (apparently) random violence.
You stated that this is worse than the 70's/80's crime wave? (<= this could use some clarification. the entire decade? A specific summer? A specific location? What does that mean???)
You stated that they wanted something from you back then - conversely (per links) they don't now.
Thus:
Crime now is worse - It isn't.
Random attacks are more - they are not.

So that is where you said it. I'd just like to see some actual numbers in any objective form. everything I know about such things says this isn't true. I have dug into the data on this a number of times.

Preppers like to believe the world is going to hell in hand basket, because that is what they prep for. The reality is the world, at least the US, it is a far safer place than it ever was. Your actual need/likelihood of needing a firearm while mowing the lawn or any other activity, is far less than it ever was.

That said - Situational Awareness is never out of style. So even the argument of BLM riots and Antifa doesn't fly. If you can't avoid those - as a prepper - I say you are probably not safe carrying a gun anyway. But again - between your iPhone, Twitter, Mobile Alerts etc...You should know that stuff is happening before the police.

and that you had nearly zero chance of being randomly killed?
Please provide me with my post where I wrote that.
Thanks
That was hyperbole. I retract the statement. You did not imply that.

And - regarding the Gun violence link; Does that include suicides?

As a shooter, we must always question data that shows that. Why? We all know that anti-gun sources will use any discharge of a firearm to state that guns need done away with.

How much of that spike in Gun "violence" was suicide due to lockdowns, loss of jobs, etc? And how much was crime on crime violence? Again - don't care. I'm not in MS13, the mafia, or a drug dealer/buyer.

Question question question everything!!!! Question things you actually believe EVEN HARDER!!!!

At the end of the day you find most of it is lies meant to influence you (whatever direction) or just random noise.

As ‘defund the police’ movement spread, Smith & Wesson gun company hit first billion-dollar sales year

My wife was just watching a news channel were they gave the stats of 8 million guns were bought last year and projections are for that to increase this year. I would imagine that is retail sales and doesn't take into account private sales.

Maybe gun owners should take advantage of the defund the police movement to push loosening up gun control laws. I mean the rationale of less police protection means more self protection, which means more access to guns.

Depends on what state you live in. Does that state have a Patriot or a Communist in charge. That makes a big difference. And yes, I chose those two terms specifically because that is what it is right now.
