Hurricane season 2020 is upon us...

Post by Bob »

Are you ready?

Just reloaded Propane: 3 full cans ready to go (- one steak grill outing!)
Pool water is tip top. Could use a case or two of bottles...no worries. 10-15 liters of frozen.
Canned goods, food buckets all good. Would like MRE's and dried food, but still pricey...
Gas cans rotating. Chain saw ready.
Car inverter good to go in case needed. Fans/batteries blah blah blah...

And of course, Ammo!

Yep, already for hurricanes. Although if we ever get a hurricane here, you guys will have been completely wiped out.

Paying attention to the seasons and adjusting/preparing is important. This last Spring, we made the Spring preps, which is similar to the hurricane preps and it includes removing the winter items from the vehicles and placing in the summer items. Come October, we will go through the Winter preps which again is similar to the Spring preps and reversing the items in the vehicles.

Looks like we have our first TS coming this weekend. Current center of the track keeps it just off the east coast of Florida as a TS (winds below 74 mph). Far left of the track has it coming up just east of me and Bob and Gene. Early Sunday morning will have it up around our latitude.

Both vehicles are gassed up, plenty of water and food. Should just be a rain maker (prayer) and everyone fine.

Looks like it's a Cat 1 now, but the track has moved to the east. Bob, Gene and I are out of the cone of uncertainty.

It's going East of me also. Only getting slight winds, some ugly clouds, little rain.

I checked and it isn't heading towards us either. Going WAY east and south of us. 😊

Glad you guys are all safe.

Even if it takes a hard left and turns up to Cat 2 and comes straight at me - ain't no thing.

Forecast to remain Cat 1 right now and still tracking east. Right now its clipping along at 16mph which is fairly fast. That's going to keep it from getting stronger.

The track continues to inch east so it might not even make landfall till it reaches South Carolina. By then it's forecast to drop down to a T.S. so it may just be a rain maker. It will be up around our latitude tomorrow evening. But the worst weather is always in the NE quadrant which is out to sea so we'll probably just get the odd band of rain that it shoots off.
