Today, I am setting up a new game camera. If you prepping for the long haul, can't remember everything about every piece of gear you have, accept the reality that models of gear get discontinued, manuals disappear, and the manufacturing company will close or be sold before you call for assistance, read what I have to do.
1. a special separate, small, water resistant plastic box for the accessories and the manuals.
2. at least two copies of the manual, one of the sales receipt.
3. today, I downloaded 7 different you tube videos on a dedicated usb key put in the box.
4. downloaded the manual to the manuals file on the computer and a copy to a rotating backup usb key for all manuals.
It is unfortunate that with the advent of high technology, the construction and operation of equipment has become more challenging. Such is the reality. You, not the manufacturer, the distributor or some local guru is the person who must be ready to deal with the challenges presented by your new and old equipment. If you don't do it, no one else will help you.

Good advice. I have tried to find manuals electronically. I then store them on my OneDrive so I can access them from any of my devices and I know where they are at.
