Look at some of the homeless today; you can learn a lot from them. Their cart carries a lot and it converts to a shelter with a simple tarp.
The larger the better!

Back when we first started doing our SEP gatherings we tried all sorts of different gear in the field to see what worked and what didn't. On one trip we picked a primitive camping site that was about 5 miles out along a bike trail. Bob will remember it as Primitive #2 at Starkey. We all had our packs and bikes to get out to the site. I came up with the idea of connecting a moving dolly to the back of my mountain bike to haul more gear than I'd normally carry as an experiment to see how feasible it was. The idea was sound but the actual implementation left a LOT to be desired. In short, the dolly was structurally strong enough to haul gear but the tires were much too small to make it practical. A buggy with large tires would have been a LOT better. I was fine till about the second mile and then it was so hard to peddle the bike that you could literally walk faster. A platform with a bigger wheel base would have been much easier. So lesson learned. That's why vehicles like a rickshaw have a big wheel base.

And something like a rickshaw would be a very handy means of locomotion in a ZA. Doesn't rely on fuel, doesn't make a lot of noise, can carry a decent amount of weight, can act as a shelter and parts would be fairly easy located. While Walmart and other box stores would be stripped bear of food, ammo, camping gear etc you'd probably still be able to find bike inner tubes because it's not really thought of as an essential item to have/horde.

This worked on all terrain.

Btw, I watched the first couple seasons of TWD. Got kind boring after awhile for the reasons Dave pointed out. Same Old Stuff episode after episode. The survivors never really evolved.

I forgot how they are facing slow moving zombies, but they can get jumped by them.
They'll go into an abandoned store, clear the aisles, start collecting food, then a zombie they missed will attack one of them. Where was this zombie hiding? How did he sneak up on them? Our lack of peripheral vision from the camera doesn't make them blind.

I'll reiterate some of the things I mentioned in The 5 things to Do in a Zombie Apocalypse.

1. Rope or wire- Drive stakes and wind rope or wire all around your perimeter about a foot off the ground. Make a zig-zag pattern with pathways for humans to walk through but will trip up Z's. Makes it easy to go up an brain them when their flopping around on the ground tangled in rope/wire.

2. Lobster traps- Lure Z's into a store, stadium, fenced in yard using one way turn styles or gates. Funnel them in like they do at Disney world. Use a recorded sound to lure them in. Go back and brain them.

3. Cheap power- Hook up a treadmill or series of treadmills to power a generator. Chain a Z to it and dangle meat in front of it. You could also make a giant mouse wheel generator. I'm kind of surprised Zombie movies never show that.

Heck you could have Z's pull a wagon or a cart forever.

Survivors will evolve and innovate. Invariably some red neck engineer will come up a way to exploit Z's to make power or provide security (think guard dogs) or forced labor or stuff we haven't even thought of.

yeah...the put air horns in a stadium thing could allow you to collect up and kill 100k at a pop.

I'm surprised there is not an eradicate them from a reality Z approach. Or as you pointed out, utilize them for energy. Of course the ropes straps chains will always break...

Because thats good for a story.

I'm amazed that the series lasted this long and now they have 2 other spin offs.
