Record rainfall

Post by Bmyers »

Woke up this morning to storms and we ended up with a record amount of rainfall for a 24 hour period and that occurred in the first 8 hours of the day. It was still raining when they said the record had been broken.

Weather Alert: Record rainfall hit St. Louis this morning with the most rain in 24-hours on record at over 9″. The previous record for 24-hour rainfall of 7.02″ August 19th-20th 1915. Generally 6″-12″ of rain has fallen with the highest in a swath from St. Charles County through St. Louis into the Metro East.

As of this morning before the rain started again, we had received 7.99 inches in our neighborhood and just over 4 inches at the farm.

Did you get a break today?
A man cannot call himself peaceful if he is not capable of violence. If he's not capable of violence he isn't peaceful, he is harmless. There is a distinct difference.

Fate whispers to the warrior "You cannot weather this storm". The warrior replies, "I am the storm".

We ended up getting another half inch. St. Louis got hit a second time and had two inches in an hour leading to more flooding.

Everything has really greened up and now we are back under a heat advisory.
