Investing in Guns for the ZOMBIE Apocalypse! A How-To Guide!
Investing in Guns for the ZOMBIE Apocalypse! A How-To Guide!
His premise is sound but I disagree with the execution. In his example, I think ten $300 police trade-in pistols would be better overall. More to barter with, more to arm others with, possible spare parts etc.
A man cannot call himself peaceful if he is not capable of violence. If he's not capable of violence he isn't peaceful, he is harmless. There is a distinct difference.

I have to disagree. Let remember this about Zombies:
1. A head shot ends them.
2. They are attracted to sound
3. They are slow.
4. You want to engage them at a distance.
The best gun is a Ruger 10/22 with a Red Dot & suppressor, for the head shot accuracy and being quiet.
A back up would be a Kel-tec 22lr if they get close, also suppressed.
Don't forget if you are inside or even shooting a lot outside, your hearing could become impaired. And if that happens in a survival situation you are at a disadvantage.
If you think you need a 5.56 for distance then the Zs should be far enough away that you should be able to avoid them. Also a 5.56 would attract more.
Also, look at the weight of 22LR vs 45 ACP. You can carry many more 22LR for the same weight.
As someone said my pistol is used to get me to my rifle.
Also, if a person is looking at their guns as a savings account; they are not much of a prepper.

The .22 as a Zombie destroyer is shaky. It is possible, as with any .22 shot to get a deflection. Next, depending on the angle of the shot, one might not destroy sufficient brain tissue to shut it down.
Now - this is obviously un-scientifically tested.
I prefer a 5.56 "pistol" for Zed. The tissue destruction is way more, and the deflection likelihood considerably less.

I'm not sure what caliber or shot placement has to do with the premise of the OP?

Nothing - but a relevant Zombie issue....because Zombies are fun!
Who you want to market - 300 or 3000 dollars is a market decision. People sell Hundai and people sell Ferrari. Just different sales approaches.
Investing in guns - even cheap Police reissues has some hazards related to the ATF. It also makes you a high value target and easy find for .Gov.
Remember - if sales get restricted (easy without banning) your "Investment" can be come very non-liquid. There is a real interesting Youtube about a guy who got tangled up in such a thing accidentally.
There is a lot more to this than what little he threw out.

There is a balance in the choice - I am not in favor of a pistol in this situation due to accuracy concerns - must be head shot. Then there is the sound of the 5.56 - more sound more Zs come your way. Ruger 10/22 with a Red Dot & suppressor, for the head shot accuracy and being quiet - You probably have one of these at home now.Bob wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 9:52 pm The .22 as a Zombie destroyer is shaky. If a person needs to sell guns for food or other needs they have other problems guns won't help with - unless the plan is to rob a bank.
Financial preps are just as important as food, water, guns and ammo.

So the deal is to buy 3, 4 or 5 Ruger 10/22s instead of one $2,000 bolt action CZ or other high end target rifle. Makes sense to me.....I'm already covered.

This isn't really new to anyone buying anything though....
One really expensive guitar moves slower and for less profit (if any) than a midline guitar.
A good Toyota holds its value nd moves fast than a BMW
