Well, looks like a gas shortage is being manufactured. Not even getting into the politics and absurdness of the whole thing. The MSM will blow it out of proportion and you'll see lines at the gas station and limits on how many gallons you can purchase. I just went and filled up both vehicles this morning. Costco already has signs on all the pumps saying you can only fill up two approved gas containers. So they know what's coming. The line wasn't any longer than normal and I cruised right into a pump thankfully.
I've got several gas containers I've just cleaned. They are drying in the sun right now and then I'll take them up later to fill. Probably about 10 gallons worth.
Whereas 1/2 tank was my normal 'empty' I think for the time being I'm going to make 3/4 of a tank the new empty till I see which way it goes. But figuring how TP went last year you can imagine what's going to happen when folks feel a panic on fuel.

No gas shortages in Michigan but it did remind me that I had taken 3-5 gallon cans up to the new house to run the mini bikes, ATV and snowblower. That left me with some empty gas cans at home for the lawn mower. Took 4- 5 gallon cans up to the gas station over the weekend and filled them up.

The truth of the matter is that while the pipeline was hacked, it can also run manually and had done so for years. It's back up and running. And it supplied fuel farms rather than direct distribution. So even if they ran the farm at double capacity it would have fuel for one month. So in essence, there was no fuel shortage in reality. It was manufactured and exploited.
Having said that, I haven't noticed lines in my area being longer than normal. Perhaps a test run....

I was out doing some errands and was just above 3/4 of a tank so I decided to stop by Costco and top off the tank. I cruised right into a pump. No long lines. $2.67 a gallon.

Biden took over his father's congressional seat, was a senator and vp, yet he led a most undistinguished life and career. The world knows this - Russians, Chinese, Iran, Europe. The real question is: who is telling him what to do?
