Rise Infinity Solar Charger
Rise Infinity Solar Charger
My wife and I each bought one of these at the very beginning of Coronageddon. When people were just starting to hoard toilet paper and nobody knew what was going to happen next. I think they cost $37.00 each.
The only real issue that we've had with them is that we didn't do our research properly and we didn't realize until after we bought them that they were coming from London.
It took them almost two months to get here BUT the company (Rise) was very upfront that they we're having supply and shipping issues due to the Coronavirus. So we knew from the beginning that it was going to take us a while to get them and as compensation our order was upgraded from the infinity one to the infinity 2 at no extra charge.
They arrived today. They appear to be very well made and they're dirt simple. You can charge 2 devices at the same time and the battery has enough charge to charge one cell phone three times.
The Infinity 2 has three solar panels but that seems to be the only difference between it and the infinity 1 in the video. It can also be charged from a plug if neccessary.
It started charging as soon as I opened it up. It doesn't appear to need much light. I'm sitting in the office at work and the only light that's on in this room is the hallway light and that appears to be enough to charge the cell.
I have been assigned to a couple of places where I was expected to be out of the office doing rounds all night long and had no opportunity to charge the company phone. This thing would be perfect for that. Most of my devices are USB rechargeable. My flashlights, my phone, even the jump starter power pack for my car. Apparently this thing will charge all of those, maybe just not all at once.
An extra flashlight is always handy. Since I usually have one on me I doubt I'll ever use this one but if I should happen to be waiting for roadside assistance the strobe would be a good way to mark my car or if I need to be able to direct the police to where I'm at at work.
One thing I've found since I've had this is that if you let the battery get low you have to charge the device before it will charge a phone. We also have a Nitecore USB 4 battery charger that will operate off of the Rise solar charger.

How long is it taking you to charge it full using only solar? I had a cheap copy, the type with only the solar cell on the face, and although the LED indicated it was charging I had it out in the full Florida sun for day after day and didn't see it getting any charge at all.
