I was approved for finger surgery by Kaiser. Told that the plastic surgeon scheduler would call for the outpatient surgery.

Lo and behold. I finally called. Department and hospital were canceling scheduled appointments and were creating waiting lists.

Mildly observing (based upon my background):
1. the mask and social distancing may have worked only to slow down the spread of the epidemic which is following the historic course of past epidemics.
2. the background of the general nurse, the general physician and the construction of hospitals and medical buildings in my state (called OSHPOD) do not permit a shifting of many resources to deal with epidemic victims.

3. the best advice that I would give is that you get plenty of sunshine (coupled with suntan lotion on the exposed surfaces, including the back of hands) and wear a hat. As many of my daily exercises that I can do (based upon the weather) are done outdoors on equipment that I constructed. I am now going to take my second walk of the day and I expect to do three on the circuit.

4. I do not think that a vaccination will be offered to me by my health care provider prior to next July. I am in my '70's and not on any prescription medication. That is the reality.

5. If you want a free virus test, ask you local blood donation center. I give a double donation or platelets at Cedar Sinai Hospital and had three tests this last year. I can only give every two months and blood with the virus is wanted for plasma transfusions.
