It will be interesting to see what develops as we get closer to the election.
See - here is the problem; You think the Right ISN'T after them. The GOVERNMENT does not want you armed. The RIGht just has other priorities because the LEFT is fighting that battle.
There has been no mega-right outrage or any such thing that anyone defending your 2nd Amendment right would/could/should do. Why not? Because Left and Right = .Gov and the last thing anyone in power wants is to lose that power. And an Armed citizenry is a threat to that, for exactly the reason the founding father's put it in there.
The right just knows that via Government Education in another generation or two they will be able to vote these things out with impunity. No need to rush.
You are confusing "the right" with Republicans. The "right" is actually for less government and the "left" is for more government. The far left is socialism be it national socialism i.e, fascism or communism. The far right is anarchy i.e. no government at all. Traditionally Republicans have been somewhere in the middle, maybe a little right of center, but have steadily moved to the left since the 1960s.The DemocRats have always been left of center but have moved way left since the 1960s. Most people fall somewhere in the middle if not a little left of center these days.
The funny thing is that liberal and conservative by definition are opposite of what they are now. Liberals should be for less government and conservatives traditionally have been for more government. Now both are for more government i.e, control. The only ones for less govt are disenfranchised former conservatives/republicans, libertarians and anarchists.
Gun rights have actually gotten better in the last 30 years with the introduction of shall issue concealed carry and constitutional carry in many states now. We have beaten down restrictive gun laws but the left like rust never sleeps trying to erode what we've gained back. The point is that as corrupt as either party may be we can never give up the fight to keep out 2nd amendment rights and push back restrictions. We've been able to push back for the last 30 years or so. Let's not throw in the towel now just because of some new left wing rhetoric.
