Finally finished my latest project

Post by Ronin.45 »

After months of delays, mostly related to Covid, I've finally got the MKII done.
Early 80's stainless bull barrel cut back a little :D
Internals swapped out to Volquartsen with 2.25lb trigger pull.
MaddMac's low profile optics mount with Holosun 507c V2
Hogue G-Mascus grips with stainless hex screws
Currently wearing my Silencerco Sparrow suppressor
A good lightweight alternative to my other MKII. It's "only" 39oz vs 56oz for the big one.

Wow! Someone's got a cool new gun to play with :)

Very nice. I really like the grips.
A man cannot call himself peaceful if he is not capable of violence. If he's not capable of violence he isn't peaceful, he is harmless. There is a distinct difference.

Fate whispers to the warrior "You cannot weather this storm". The warrior replies, "I am the storm".

Did a quick, 6 round sight in on steel before the match today. Forgot the tool so had to make due with a 22lr rim. Got it mostly centered on the far target and figured it was close enough for steel challenge. The plan was to run it side by side with my original MKII, but that didn't happen. Pulled it out and the Aimpoint was dead. One negative of really long battery life is that you don't expect it to ever die. I had a spare at some point, but couldn't tell you where it is. After 10 years, the spare is probably expired anyway.
I still shot the new gun and it did surprisingly well. The 507c is very different than the Aimpoint so took some adjustments, but only about 3.5sec off the match record. I'm very pleased with that for a brand new gun. It could get me a new record if I can do my part.
