Since this incident, I now have three couples that are wanting to shot in two weeks and learn how to use a rifle and pistol. Not sure when the wife and I became the go to couple for this, but at least I get to go shooting.

Interesting how quickly people decide they need a firearm when they see the wolf getting close to their henhouse.

OK it seems that the protesters came in through two gates, one they pried open, the other looked undamaged (maybe opened from inside after protesters beached other gate?).

Video shows the woman walking right up to the protesters on the sidewalk pointing her pistol at them with her finger on the trigger while she was arguing with them – not cool.

And they don't really have that strong of a case for self defense, even to the extent of pointing loaded weapons at people. Yes it was their property and I am sure they felt threatened but the protesters were not violent, brandishing weapons or even focused on them (they were supposedly cutting through on the gated community road to the mayor's house). At that point they had not committed any crime except for possibly trespass. I don't know when the gate got smashed, but there is video showing the protesters entering through a undamaged gate that was apparently unlocked.
They showed a picture of the iron gate (smaller entrance) That was right next to their home. From the interviews I’ve seen, many in the crowd were armed and many were violent (smashing the gate and threatening the couple, the dog and threatening to burn down the home).

I posted above before I read the second page. Yes, two gates from what I’ve seen. And I agree that her position could be questionable, however, hard to be definitive based only on the videos we’ve seen so far. I’d be more concerned with the distance between the couple. She didn’t look well versed in firearms by any stretch. A group of 5 or 10 rushing her would have been way more than she could handle.

I’m glad it worked out for them but it could have gone south in a really bad way for them. And good to learn from.

She got close enough for the protesters to slap the pistol out of her hand. It seemed like the pink polo guy with the AR sensed the potential danger of her being so far away from him and so close to the crowd that he wrapped the sling around his arm and shouldered the rifle like he was getting ready to take a shot, which may not have been easy since she put herself between him and the crowd. They are extremely lucky no one escalated the situation further. It would be very hard to justify self defense if someone tried to disarm her after she had advanced pointing her gun with finger on the trigger at someone who was unarmed that she was arguing with. But yeah, its always hard to tell from the video clips – I haven't seen any full unedited video with audio as of yet, but I am sure that the prosecutor will try to find a way to make a case against them, particularly the woman with the handgun.

Their neighbors are coming out against them.

I'm guessing the neighbors are, for the most part, a bunch of rich, privileged progressives and had the same protesters marching past their homes. I'm sure many of them stayed inside, locked the doors, got their guns and called the police (that they want disbanded or defunded) and demanded that they come and save them from the peaceful protesters. Apparently none of these people were attacked, even without the police and without going out on their lawns waving weapons around.

Makes you wonder if they were liked by the neighbors? Or it by coming out against them they think the mob will stay on their side next time? Or if they are complete libtards and pissed now that they know their libtard neighbors own an scary 'assault' rifle?

I still think the two did the right thing, just not in the best way possible. But it's a tough call. I wasn't there and try not to second guess in these types of things. It does seem that, as far as businesses, those that don't put on a show of force are the one's the rioters break into, beat or kill those inside and loot and/or destroy the place. Those that have a few buddies standing outside with body armor and AR-15's are the ones the rioters steer clear of. If the couple had just sat down to dinner would the rioters have just walked on by without causing further damage? We don't know. We do know after seeing a couple of homeowners armed they walked by and caused no further damage.

Man...I'll have a few posts on this.

Overall - I will admit not being clear on the whole which gates where/how deal. Of course, .News won't tell you clearly. Let's assume though, two gates: 1 into residential area and one onto the lawn.

Absolutely breaking/entering/trespassing for the lot of them. That is not a peaceful assembly in a public area period the end. Full agreement. I'm really sorry you'll need to rest all of those people. I'm filming it in High Def, and paying a PI to find them, and pressing charges. Maybe they should protest public education which did not teach them that.

Also - apparently someone told them people on the street owned weapons? enter at your own risk? That guy is getting incitement/conspiracy or whatever - IF he really did that.

Next - when I 9-1-1'd that (and I would have; No response = civil lawsuit. Sorry - until you are defunded, I payed for that service.

Now; My response to the situation.

In the current environment:
I have an AK w/ 75rd drum, Vest w/ 3 20rd mags ready to go.
I have a shotgun with 8 + 5 on saddle and a sling with 50 ready to go
I'd have my HK USP and a pair mag plus my Walther as a back up.
2 Additional family members would have been armed with pistol/rifle combos as well.
And a Dog!

...not 30 .223 and 6 38's. I would not have brandished at the group because they may have had a dozen people armed in there.

I would have had everyone film that deal in High Def from the safety of my home. When a mob of 50-100 people show up, confronting them with any number of rounds of ammo is pure foolishness. I'd have said once on film this is private property get off of it now.

And then I'm watching for anyone to throw anything on fire, an explosive, or a shot fired. If that happens, it is on and I will be well known nationally for the mess I made. There is what's right, and what is real.

No matter how it turned out - Lawsuit will be won, book deal and movie rights. Have to remember - turn it into a win no matter what.

Even in the commie state of NY, you can use DPF on a person you think is committing arson

Under our law, any person may use deadly physical force upon another individual when he or she reasonably believes it to be necessary to prevent or terminate what he or she reasonably believes to be the commission or attempted commission of arson by such individual.

See no issue here, and if required will defend my family !
You can't fix stupid !
