Glock thread
Re: Glock thread
A man cannot call himself peaceful if he is not capable of violence. If he's not capable of violence he isn't peaceful, he is harmless. There is a distinct difference.

Re: Glock thread
Glock peaked at Gen 3
Except for 19x, which they stopped making for no good reason...

Re: Glock thread
I'll keep my Gen3 thank you... it is a hammer and it works fine as is
You can't fix stupid !
Re: Glock thread
I didn't realize the G19M was now available for private citizens through blue label.
Not a fan of the half-moon cut out on the front strap. I didn't bother me, but I'd rather not have it for reloading purposes as some have had problems with the mag getting caught up on that lip. Overall I prefer the G19FS.
The Gen 3 is a good Gen, but I don't think I'd call it the pinnacle. At least for me. I am not comfortable with finger grooves to include the Gen 4. I like the texturing on the 4/5 better and I like the beaver tail back straps and dual RSA. Again, the Gen 3 is great and if you like Glock finger grooves I can see it being a favorite Gen. Just personal preference.

I keep hearing it both ways on the 19X so I'm not sure if they discontinued them or just have limited, periodic runs. I'm fine either way. If they are continued fine and if not the value of mine will continually rise.

Re: Glock thread
I agree that the Gen 3 was the pinnacle of function. I wish they had just modified the texture, finger grooves, and back straps on later generations. The mechanical component were well sorted.
Re: Glock
Which model are you mostly carrying now with all the 'stuff' hitting nearby?Bmyers wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 2:23 pm I'm a huge Glock fan. My wife was the one who actually turned me into a Glock fan. When she decided she wanted the G19, that is when I switched everything over to a Glock. We have our self defense firearm system based on the Glock pistol and we have PCCs that use the Glock magazines. So, everything is interchangeable. I have the parts to fix anything that could break on one of our Glocks. Very simple to work on.
Although I very much like the P365, that new G19FS is looking like the more applicable go-to option right now. It would give me +6 rounds of capacity overall over the P365 which is fairly substantial plus compatibility with my PCC go-bag. I credit you with my thinking in that area because it makes a lot of sense. I'm thinking P365 if I'm just going out to family/friends for the day and want max comfort and the G19FS if I'm out-and-about in public. We'll see how that goes when the really hot weather gets here.

Re: Glock thread
Currently it the G26 with a backup 17-round mag on the belt and my little grab bag with three 33-round sticks in it.
The closest protest to us has all been peaceful, St. Louis has had several issues and we have just avoided going to St. Louis.
We have the FX 9 Pistol PCC and the JRC Takedown model in the vehicles. Wife has been carrying her G19.
If any of the towns closer to us have issues, then I will be switching to the G19.

I know there is a lot of concern about this 'defund police' movement. I have had a few anti-gun people come to me and ask what they needed to do to get a firearm. I walked two different couples through the process and they were actually surprised about how difficult it is to buy a gun. They thought they could just go to the store and fill some paperwork and take the gun home with them. So, they are getting a taste of their own medicine and their view point are quickly changing.

Re: Glock thread
I've mentioned 'Q' before in a few posts, and whether or not someone follows that movement, one thing he's stated rings very true; Sometimes you can't tell people, they have to be shown. And I've noticed that with three different sets of folks that I've talked with over the years about getting a firearm yet they never did. Since all the 'stuff' has started up they've all called and asked what the process is, what they should get, can I train them etc. Wrong time with the price spike and scarcity of course, but at least their eyes have been opened up. We call it being 'red pilled'.Bmyers wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 3:47 pm I know there is a lot of concern about this 'defund police' movement. Have you used the 33-round mags a lot? I'm always curious about the reliability of those longer magazines. I have one that's something like a 22-round 40 mag but haven't used it that much.

Re: Glock thread
I have used the 33 round magazines in three different matches (and shot them numerous times just at the range). Every time they worked without any issues. I use only Glock 33-round mags for self-defense. I have seen others use off brand mags and have issues.
I also use ETS magazines and they have worked well. The ETS 33 round mags have never had an issue and would use them if needed, but I prefer the Glock mags when it comes to SD.

Re: Glock thread
Thank you. I may have to pick up a fun stick or two. Would be a good addition for the Sub2K.
