IDPA matches

Post by Bmyers »

I know, matches aren't training, they are trigger time (now that is out of the way).

Matches in our area started cancelling in March because of the outbreak. Currently, matches through May have been cancelled at all 4 clubs that I shoot at.

I seen yesterday that Nationals for IDPA in September had been cancelled because they don't know what will happen with this outbreak and they aren't sure there will be enough sanctioned matches this year to allow shooter to get enough points.

That sucks, and cancelling all the way out to September seems just a bit premature. I'm not sure if the Outlaw matches have started up again but I have a class scheduled for later this month at the same range.

I'm running my first outdoor match of the season this Sunday. My group is ready whether the state is or not. I'll probably start indoor matches beginning in June unless something bad happens.

Any of your matches started up yet?

We just ran a 2Gun yesterday. Knocked the rust off a little. First time I've shot my Glock and PCC in months.

I'm hoping there is a match the last week of June or at least that is what I'm hearing they are trying for.

I used to shoot IDPA back in the day. Nobody close to me does it anymore.

It looks like the outlaw matches have started back up. I'll be waiting to see when my buddies are going to go. And my wife is even interested in going as well which is a nice bonus. Give her some trigger time under conditions that are more realistic than the static indoor ranges.
