.22 Magnum / Keltec

Post by Bob »

So we have been discussing the awesomeness that is the P17.

But what about the PMR30 or the CMR30? How about ,22 Magnum for all around plink/smallgame/SD?

.22 is nice but .22 Magnum is a whole other thing. I have not shot one in forever.

The 22mag has always been an unnecessary cartridge to me. It's too expensive to plink with. If I want to spend 15-20¢ a round, I'll shoot 9mm.
It isn't a big enough step up from 22lr to be useful. If I want more than LR for varmint/pest control, I'll step up to 17HMR with flatter trajectory and better bullet design.
The Keltec PMR30 is surprisingly popular because people like noise. It has an impressive muzzle blast for a rimfire pistol

Never been a big fan of the 22 mag in a pistol. It does have some usefulness in a rifle.

As far as Keltec goes the CP33 (33 round 22) is a cool gun but it's real expensive.
