It's that time of year again....
Kinda of let myself go over the last 8-9 months but I'm back on the healthy eating and drinking wagon.
Been intermittent fasting (eat once a day) for about 12 days. No alcohol (hopefully) until we go on a cruise the end of February. Not too hard once you get used to it. So far I've lost 12 lbs since Jan 1.
On Sunday I started a 48 hour fast which ends today. Tomorrow I'II start a revised intermittent fast. I'll eat twice a day every other day but only from 12-6pm. Going back to a once a day meal on the other days. I'm leaning toward doing keto again but I just can't give up carbs completely. So, not strictly keto but reducing carbs.
And I've been going back to the gym every day I'm not up at the woods house.

Re: 2025 New Years resolution
Just to clarify, I'm eating one meal today, 2 tomorrow and on and on alternating days. Was down another 2 lbs this morning but I hadn't weighed myself since Monday.
Update: Friday Jan 23
I ate 2 meals a day for a couple days but just wasn't hungry. Just eating once a day for the last 6 days. Haven't worked out for the last 4 days due to a case of shingles and haven't lost any more weight. However, I am down 17 lbs since I started which is very good for 23 days. I imagine from here on out it will only be 1 or 2 lbs a week.

Still IFing and not drinking alcohol. It'll be 40 days tomorrow of not drinking. Not a big drinker and am not noticing any difference. Just trying to detox a little bit before getting on a cruise ship the end of this months.
Re: 2025 New Years resolution
I ended up riding my bike almost every day and working out at least every other day when in Florida.
Went 66 days without drinking alcohol. On the 9 night cruise I averaged 2 drinks a day. Somedays I had 3 or 4, some days none or one. That's considerably less than what I usually drink on a cruise. Had a couple drinks when back in Florida and a couple shots of Jamison's Irish Whiskey on St. Patricks day.
I kept reading about the benefits of not drinking but to be honest I didn't notice any difference physically or mentally in those 66 days. Granted, I was working out so any physical benefit I noticed was from working out and not noticeably from not drinking. Was I sharper mentally? Maybe but again, working out does that as well.
Be that as it may i'm Intending to go back on the wagon for the next couple of months as of yesterday.
