New trail cam pics

Post by Mac66 »

Been so busy up at the house I've not checked ths cameras all summer. An owl has been hooting close to the house almost every night. Camera caught him sitting on the gate post one night.

I'm posting these on a very old computer up at the woods house. When I can get it to work I'll upload more pics and share some more.

Momma and her fawns. We see them all the time in the clearing.

Wiley coyote in the buck wheat field.

And a button buck...perhaps

And the first buck on camera we've seen this year. Not sure what he'll turn to be

That long horn spike buck has been turning up on camera all the time now and I ran into him in person when I went to check the buckwheat field. Only buck, other than that small spike I've been seeing on camera.

Finally got around to pulling the card on the brassica field near the road. There were 8 deer in it the other night so apparently it's working. It's a pretty small field.

Got around to looking at the field camera and starting to see bucks.

At least a 4 pt.

The one on the right is at least a 6 point. Not sure what the other one is but his rack looks pretty wide from behind.

This one is in the power line plot. Looks like he's shedding his velvet. Disregard the date and time. I just replaced the batteries a couple days ago and didn't reset the camera

And all the deer in the roadside plot

Deer season is quickly approaching around here. I don't know who is more excited about it? The bucks going after the does or the hunters going after the bucks?

There is actually an early antlerless deer hunt this weekend only in MI. The state is trying to reduce the deer population which has exploded the last few years.

My daughter's getting married this weekend (today) so I'm not hunting.

Bow season starts Oct 1.

New bucks are starting to show up, this is the big food plot after the buckwheat was cut.

Off the back ridge...going to have to change the year on this camera.

And a little button/nubbin buck, look close

One of our work trucks just got the first deer of the season yesterday morning. A little over $10,000 in damage.
