Just a note... when using a bank of batteries for solar, make sure all the connecting cables are the same length ( between batts ) so they get an equal charge. Positives and negatives do not need to be the same length.
Found out when one of my 3 kept acting funny in charge bank.
You can't fix stupid !

I run a small setup out in shed (few small car batts and 2 100w panels ).... its for the outdoor 12v LED lighting in back yard.
It does work well and was originally setup with one battery. One of the kits they sell online.
