Fun time at the range

Post by Bmyers »

After dealing with COVID last year and not getting to the range, we took a trip yesterday to the range. The wife, our niece and her husband, and our nephew who was in town on leave (he is a Marine) all went to the range yesterday.

We took 9 different pistols with us and three rifles and we had fun. The boys were showing their skills and agreed to get put on the timer. The boys were bragging about how good they did, which they did, but didn't realize how good of shot their aunt is. She went on the timer at 10 yards and put all her shots in the target (two to the body one to the head) at the down zero two seconds quicker than they did (she was 3.5 seconds from low ready).

Well of course the old uncle couldn't be left out, so I took my turn coming from the holster and was able to do it in 2.1 seconds with all zero hits. They were amazed a fat old guy could shot so quick, which I pointed out is slow compared to lots of the guys I shot with.

We shot for almost 3 hours and went through about 500 rounds (yes an expensive day, thankfully reloading helps offset some of the cost). It was a wonderful day and some badly needed practice.

Glad you guys had a great time. Always fun to hit the range with friends and family. Especially if you haven't been there in a while.
A man cannot call himself peaceful if he is not capable of violence. If he's not capable of violence he isn't peaceful, he is harmless. There is a distinct difference.

Fate whispers to the warrior "You cannot weather this storm". The warrior replies, "I am the storm".
