Although I like Glock, I've often bluntly stated that 99.9% of the Glock aftermarket is unnecessary crap. Case in point, let's take the lowest capacity Glock and make it full auto so that it's even more difficult to put those limited rounds on target at typical SD distances.

Well, as someone who does have all that crap on their Glock... I fully admit to a) Not being a Glock "feel" fan period and b) Putting it on just for fun. I agree - nothing needs to be done to a Glock. Or an S&W or an XD...

But when I shoot it now, damn it works a lot better for me!

I can see night sights as a viable and legitimate 'mod' for any pistol. Particularly Glock to get rid of the cheap plastic sights. On HK I can see getting the enhanced paddle mag release as that is a mod that is quite functional.

And if the pistol in question is a range toy then sure, go nuts on the mods. For a SD pistol, night sights is about all it should really need (of the enhanced paddle release). Other than that, mags and ammo.

Spare replacement parts for common items like springs is also a good idea but I don't consider that a mod.

I guess it depends on your definition of "need". Any gun is serviceable from the factory, but that doesn't mean it's perfect for you. Some people have bad eyes and "need" higher visibility sights. Some have arthritis and "need" extended controls. I am picky about triggers and "need" to get rid of the heavy, lawyer pull on stock guns.
Unless something you add/modify makes the gun less reliable, they are perfectly acceptable.

Received the holster this afternoon that I ordered a few days ago. Great shipping time. This is for the Glock 19.5FS and Pl-Mini 2 Valkyrie.

Not surprised, that's a pretty good price even in normal times.

I tossed up some items on a local BST site. Guy contacts me wanting to trade his 'custom' G43X that he says he's had $2000 worth of custom parts added to it...NOT counting the gun smith work. What in the world can you do to a 43X for $2000+? I guess it's possible but wow

And why do all that work and then want to trade it off? I can imagine it probably looks like an abomination and the guy doesn't want it anymore. That and the functionality/reliability probably went south as well. Needless to say I politely declined the offer. Probably should have gotten his laundry list and a pic just out of curiosity.
