From what I understand, Kelly McCann had a G19 with 750K rounds through it. And Chuck Taylor, last I saw had a G17 with like 450K rounds through it. Anyone have any links or updates to either?

I haven't heard updates on those in a while, but there are plenty out there with impressive round counts. My 2003 17 is mid 70s right now.

As I've discussed before, my old agency has G21.3's with over 300K on them. I'd not heard of Kelly McCann's G19 until yesterday but the link in the post was broken and I couldn't find much beyond someone just referencing it. I enjoyed Chuck Taylor's articles over the years. I think his G17 was a Gen 1 IIRC.

I'm looking forward to testing out my G19FS, hopefully next week. I may start carrying that one a bit.

I mentioned in the range report thread that I made the second 19X my wife’s night stand pistol. This his-n-hers will make it easier for her due to familiarity regardless of which one she grabs. As mentioned, 20 rounds on tap is comforting. This continues with my all Glock for HD roles.

We have the same approach, we both have G19 Gen4s for our night stand guns. They are setup identical, even with the same light on each. So no matter which one you grab, it is the same.

I really think that is the wisest choice, and I give you full credit for helping shape my thinking in this area. Figure that a HD pistol is most likely to be used in a critical situation, often at night when you've just been jarred awake by someone breaking into the home. Not the time to be fumbling around with things or having different platforms depending on where you are in the home. Simple is best and less is more. So an all-Glock format for HD is now the plan.
