Much like Covid - the lesson is

1. Get the right data
2. Make sure you know what it is (Antibody? Positive Test? Case? Treated? Hospitalized? Died of vs Died from Complications?)
Then Stratify your data...

Who REALLY gets Covid? Gender, Age, Race, Health Condition?
Who REALLY dies? 85+ with two+ pre-existing problems vs 45 and good

So how many random break ins actually occur? He didn't tell you
- Take out the crime on crime attacks
-Take out the Domestic issues
- Take out the "I know you I'm stalking you and I'm going to Rape you"

THEN tell me who really has this occur. And how often. And then "Buy my locks!" Can't wait to see Lock advertisements in Facebook.

This is classic Glock Talk crap. "Man - people home invading don't care! There are there for bad reasons and you have to kill them so I sit in the dark and shoot first and ask questions later!!!!!"

Last real point - that he conveniently leaves out:

*Serious injury accounted for 9% and minor injury accounted for
36% of injuries sustained by household members who were home
and experienced violence during a completed burglary.

- when people are home most are never completed. Again; I can say this 1000000 times and if you just want an excuse to shoot someone you'l ignore it.

ALMOST ALL BURGLARIES / BREAK INS that occur when people are home get abandoned. Because they are intending to commit a PROPERTY CRIME not an assault/rape etc.

Resitance is not futile - it is a PITA that criminals generally do not want.

And don't say "Then take the gun out of the drawer Bob" My point is that this guy is TRYING to get you to think that lots of things happen way more often than they actually do and that you need to buy locks!!!!!

You are not getting a random @$$ home invasion and get raped in the next three minutes. Or Hours, days, weeks, years, or ever likely.

Well Bob, that’s what I call a very well thought out rebuttal. Count me impressed.
A man cannot call himself peaceful if he is not capable of violence. If he's not capable of violence he isn't peaceful, he is harmless. There is a distinct difference.

Fate whispers to the warrior "You cannot weather this storm". The warrior replies, "I am the storm".

I 100% agree with Bob.
You see similar tactics from instructors and companies hawking safety gear. They get you to believe that roving gangs of armored criminals are breaking into homes down the block. You need a handgun to fight to your shotgun to fight to your AR to FINALLY get to your GE Mini Gun at the top of the stairs. Meanwhile your wife better be kitting little Johnny in his Kevlar onesie and level IIIa diaper.
Fear sells and many people are willing to buy without even thinking about researching things for themselves.

 Did NOT see that coming!!!!

Yeah - the ability to throw fearful numbers at people from official sources is way huge. The ability to put things in context is extremely limited.

He wants you to believe that roving bands of people are gonna break into your home un-announced and beat/rape you. The reality is that your drug dealer buddy wants his 2 dollars, and might shove you hard. I'm not saying really bad/nasty things don't happen. But no where on the scope that this guy is trying to get you to believe.

You should worry more about Covid than this!

That's not even my "A" game Dave. I do this for a living.

Senior Vice President: I need 20 more staff and 10MM in technology!
Bob: Do you now? Based on what?
SVP: This data!!!!
Bob: Let me ask you some questions....

Just saw another example on Facebook. The goofball that runs Active Self Protection is telling everyone they need to worry about their folding knife failing during a violent encounter. Of all the things to worry about, my Spyderco failing is low on the list. Just like the evening news, they make more money off of fear than anything else.

I have NEVER had a folding knife fail ever. When sticking it in things way harder than flesh and bone.
