Survival and Emergency Preparedness

My youngest brother (he's 55) just got his concealed pistol license and we looking for a carry pistol. Like my older brother I lent him my old LC9 to try out for size, ease of carry etc. He started looking for LC9s, EC9s etc but all were pretty expensive new. I lent him my Taurus G2c and 3c but he didn't like them as much as the size of the LC9.

When I was in Florida I happened to look at a local Michigan gun forum I belong to (Mich Gun Owners, AKA MGO) and saw that a guy put up a LC9s for sale. It happened to be in the same city my brother lives in and in fact was in the same neighborhood. So I sent him the ad and he went over and looked at it. He picked it up for $285. Heck I'd of bought it if I had been home.

Very good condition, included 2 holsters, 2 mag holsters, 3 mags, Hogue grips and installed night sights + some ammo, original box and accessories. Pretty good package. He's happy and I get my old LC9 back.

Okay, that is one heck of a deal! Truglo are good night sights. Probably $65+ when bought new.

Those pistols normally only come with one mag so the extra two are a big bonus and IIRC like $50 for a 2-pack.

The holsters and mag holders are a big bonus as well. And adds to the value of his deal substantially. Add up all the extras and he probably paid $100 for the actual pistol itself.

I've seen that type of mag holder before and IIRC it's had good reviews. It keeps the mag protected and keeps it from moving around all over the place in your pocket. So it will always be in the same spot when you reach for it.

He's got a good brother who finds these deals.

I found my other brother a used LC9s last year with three mags,Talon grips, 4 holsters and some other stuff for around $300 as well. I paid $225 for my used LC9s pro a couple years ago. It had 3 mags, a holster and Talon grips.

They are a good value for the money. I know Ruger stopped making the LC9 (which is a shame) and IIRC, they stopped making the LC9s in favor of the EC9s (and that's also a shame). I've not shot the LC9 Max (I think that is the name) but if I wasn't so invested in the Sig P365's I'd be taking a look at them.
