Interesting takeaway, a 3lb can of off brand Crisco will burn for 36 days at 8 hours a night.

I've got a couple/few of the off-brand Crisco tubs set aside for a long lasting emergency candle. Seems like a long lasting and cost efficient item to have on hand.

Comment on Crisco can.
1. ordered the candle for the 6 pound can and extra wicks. Will pick up this am.
2. Over the years, I kept looking for an artificial, mobile, self contained light source, and safe source of illumination which used a fuel that did not go bad or parts that did not go bad and which could be used indoors, safely. What a laundry list! This is the unit that will do the job.
The coleman propane lantern, my kerosene lantern, my battery operated lanterns, my candles, my solar powered lantern did not meet the requirements.
I am not going to get rid of what I already own. And, I am not going to need to buy or create an additional unit.
