Survival & Freedom #1: The Internet

So, this is going to be the first in a series of my response to recent events. Survival and Preparedness go hand in hand, and Preparedness can help you avoid Survival situations.
It is time now to start preparing for the future. As Dave said very well - if Trump does not win it is the end of Democracy. Well, he didn't, and I concur based on what I have seen - democracy has died right before my eyes. I thought I'd be 80 before this started happening. Based on recent events, I am moving on. In fact, if anything, I am behind, since I have said this is coming for a long time.
So...as I watch the MSM black out information, silence voices, spin narratives, cancel accounts and ban people...time to up my electronic communication game.
First thing first: I am coming to you from the Brave Browser now. I am getting off of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. Tech Giant Browsers are subject to tech Giant data mining and silencing.
I will be getting Tor shortly. I'm sure some of you believe that is the drugs, sex, and assassination browser for the dark web. Another way to describe is "It's not explorer, Safari, Chrome, Firefox that is controlled by Big Tech and what I lovingly refer to as "The Party."
And finally, before the weekend is out I will be getting a VPN. For those not familiar, it is a Virtual Private Network. Going on there is the same as "going Dark" on the web.
My thought is in the very near future, if you haven't learned how to negotiate web based security and stay clear of the gatekeeping and watchful eye of .Gov....well, banning you from Facebook for posting Memes may not be the only thing that happens to you. As the President of the US, found out, it can happen to even him! Are you him? Nope. Me either.
As much as having food and water is important, having the ability to get out there, communicate, and find information is also. Using all of the standard means and sources may not be viable much longer. So, before the long cold electronic winter sets in, I'm gearing up.
I'll still be on the usual things like iCloud and Safari. But the nature of how I use them is going to drastically change.
