I am not addressing whether the tariff right or wrong. My focus is on the one decision that will not be reversed.

There has existed some arrangement that items produced in China could be imported without tariffs. The number that I saw was in the billions. I have done it for years.

As of May 3, 2025, the United States will eliminate the de minimis exemption that previously allowed shipments valued at $800 or less from China to enter without tariffs. This change aims to address concerns over the surge of low-value imports from Chinese e-commerce platforms such as Shein and Temu, which have heavily utilized this exemption. ​

In addition to removing the de minimis exemption, the U.S. has imposed a 10% ad valorem tariff on most imports from China, effective February 4, 2025. This tariff applies to a wide range of goods, with few exceptions. ​

Glad to see him keep his word. Few politicians follow through on their campaign promises.
He's been talking about the unfair trade policies for decades and now he's able to do something about it.
Hopefully this will bring millions of manufacturing jobs back home to reinvigorate the middle class.
This is what people voted for.

think it will settle out in 6 months... either way I think its a good thing for the US
