Wanted to start a thread for products, equipment and meds that are designed for animals but can safely be used on humans in an emergency situation.

For starters, I've done a bit of research into this product before, Wonder Dust.

  • Blood coagulant stops capillary bleeding fast
  • Aids in the prevention of proud flesh (granulation tissue)
  • For use on open cuts, surface wounds, cuts, abrasions, granulated tissue, proud flesh and capillary bleeding
  • Can be used on other livestock as a blood-stop powder after castrating, docking or dehorning
  • Contains a deodorant to remove objectionable odors from foul or infected wounds
  • Use with or without a bandage
I purchased a 4oz bottle on Ebay for less than $9 (states $10.25 but I had a Wikibuy coupon applied).

For emergency use only of course to stop bleeding. Sounds like it is very similar to celox granules in effect. And it's less than $10 for 4oz whereas Celox granules is about $17 for 6 grams.

As disclaimer, Dave would never encourage anyone to use a product other than described by the manufacture, but some have found other uses for products outside of the description given by the manufacture. If you decide to use the product other than how the manufacture has stated, you do so at your own risk.

PS-Dave gives good advice, just have to have the disclaimer in today's society.

An uncle of mine was a veterinarian an he would keep our family supplied with Keflex. It is a good one to keep on hand and I need to get some. I have taken it several times in my life for various things like lung infections and for nasty cuts and burns. It always worked well. I always try and let my body do its own fighting first though so when I take an antibiotic I really need one.

Great link, thank you :)

I'm going to have to look into their videos further, looks like they have some good stuff to offer. Gonna have to take a look at that book they offer as well.

There are several fish antibiotics on the market and generally all safe for humans. Buy from a reputable source and look for "USP" in the description.
