The "I got a deal" thread

Figured it would be fun to have a thread where we can highlight the good deals we've gotten (or maybe a really bad deal ;) ).

Kicking it off...

Okay, so several years ago I bought that High Point 4095 .40S&W carbine for $267 new plus tax ($285 total). I traded even it for a Mossberg 500 with beautiful all wooden furniture and the guy threw in an ATI folding stock. The cheapest I'm finding that stock is like $70 by itself so I put it on one of my other shotguns. So I'm subtracting the price of the stock from the original $ output, so I now have $215 into the deal. Then I traded the above Mossy 500 with the wood furniture for a S&W 6904 + $50 so I had about $265 into that 9mm. Then I traded the 9mm even for a P250 .45acp so that put me at about $265 into that Sig! Great deal imho.

Bought night sights with the Amazon credit I had build up only ended up paying like $35 total. So let's say I've got $300 into the Sig now.

The deal came with a 9mm grip module. Don't know why he had it but he threw it into the deal. Those grip modules are $35 and up plus shipping. Without splitting hairs, I sold it on AL and bought an FDE for the .45 so let's call that an even split. So I've still got $300 into the Sig.

It came with two mags but I wanted to get a couple/few more. So I looked around and finally found a guy on Ebay that was selling them for $18 each plus $5 shipping. Well, $23 is a really good deal because these sell for $31 and upwards not counting the shipping, which for some places is ridiculously high. So I bought the two he had so it was $36 plus $10 for shipping. I msg him and asked if he'd combine shipping and he said he would or he had a third mag if I wanted to add another $11. I did so that's three mags for $57! So now I've got $357 into the Sig total for the gun, two grip modules, night sights and five mags.

I traded that for an HK VP9SK with night sights, brand new and unfired. Later on I traded that for a Gen 4 Glock 22 with TFO night sights, 9mm conversion barrel (that I priced checked at $225) and multiple G22 and G17 magazines. Still have $357 into that deal total and still have the G22.4.

Felt like that was some pretty good horse-trading. :)

Never was one for trading guns but Dave has made so many that I thought I would try it. Bought a used Ruger SR22 a number of years ago that I like so much that I bought a second used one. The second one cost $265 and came with 4 mags. I bought the second one primarily because my wife and daughter liked the first one so much that it became the gun of choice for HD when I was away. That meant I couldn't take it up to my property and plink with it which why I bought it. So one for them, one for me.

When my daughter moved out a year ago I didn't think I needed two SR22s and several other guns. So in a fit of madness I started selling off some stuff. Couldn't sell the SR22 so I ended trading it for a Shield 2.0 9mm with a built in laser. I thought that trade was a fair deal. I tried the Shield, didn't care for the laser and was satisfied with my Ruger LC9 as my EDC so put it up for sale on a local forum. Someone offered me a NIB Shield 380 EZ and 250 rounds for it even up. I've been looking at the EZ for my wife so I thought that was a fair deal as well. That's my story.

I've had a lot of fun along the way :D

That .380 EZ is a nice pistol. Friends of ours asked me to go to the gun store with them so they could try some out and pick my brain a bit. The EZ was one of the one's we looked at and it truly is an easy slide to rack.

I picked up a 9mm Shield this morning. Has a LaserMax red laser and one of those Techo clips. Came with a couple of 8-round mags and a large gun case that is pretty rugged. Plan to go to the range tomorrow so I'll run it through it's paces.
