A slower alternative that filters and purifies is the two bottle solar still. The water is vaporized in one bottle and the gas condensed in the second bottle.

The UN single solar still purifies, but does not filter. Use a coffee filter.

The inexpensive (proper) pool shock chemical will purify and not filter. So, you filter with a coffee paper.

I wonder if you can actually make enough water to survive on with the above suggestion? I know the concept works, but never looked into how much water is created by that method. If you have several of those setups, then more doable. Yet, would one provide enough water for survival?
