I wish more companies put thought into barrel lengths. Too many tend to go for extra length when it's not needed. The 357 tends to actually slow down if you go past 16", but many companies do 18+. I saw you post your H&R 44mag with the 24" barrel. Actually I think the 44 is 22" but you're right, that's way too long. A 16" is so much handier and keeps things reasonable if you're putting a suppressor on it.
