See - this is what I'm saying. There is NOTHING sensible about this.
- He makes a number of great hygiene points
- Having cleaners on hand is never bad
But what he is ALSO suggesting is that in a bio/virus situation that going out is ok. The level of training for dealing with stuff like this is insane. If you have a serious virus going around using his "Bio" kit is a great way to get yourself infected. Like I said - the amount of skill it takes, and gear to really avoid bad bugs is insane.
I'm not against anything he said. It is the false sense of security that things like this gives people. There is not a Faine line between "Go about your business as usual". and "Stay in if you don't need to go out"
Now Corona....would NOT be going on a trip over seas!

We are taking steps so if we do get sick or if it hits our area, that we won't have to make that mad rush to the store to try to get everything. As with all preparedness, we are buying stuff that we use, making sure we have plenty on hand and working on the assumption if things get bad, many items may not be in stock for two or three months as the demand out strips the supply.

Sensible precaution, year around, go a long way. If the store has wipes at the door, use them on the shopping cart handle. At the gas pump, use gloves or hand sanitizer. Wash your hands frequently. Keep your immune system strong. Occasionally wipe down things like door knobs, key boards, phones etc.
And right now I don't think I'd want to be on a plane, train or cruise ship. Seems like cruise ships are very vulnerable to this sort of thing.

I have a cruise booked for May. Having worked on a cruise ship at one time, yep, they are vulnerable. My cruise will have only a few hundred people - and probably fewer at the rate things are going.

I will retract some of my alarm at the guys Corona vid. I still say "feeling safe" is a BAD idea to start getting, as is the "ou can be safe with hygiene!" attitude.
However - on a cautionary note, most prepares don't put enough thought into hygiene for a SHTF event. Remember, the majority of the deaths in Puerto Rico post hurricane: Hygiene.

Georgia health officials announced on Tuesday that roughly 200 residents were self-monitoring for the coronavirus after recently returning from China.
None of the residents have shown symptoms of the virus or visited Hubei province -- the epicenter of the outbreak.
Health officials reportedly didn't use the word quarantine, instead, phrasing it that people are being isolated in their homes for 14 days, which is considered the virus's incubation period, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A new paper by Chinese scientists says the period could be as long as 24 days. https://www.foxnews.com/us/nearly-2...i ... -wednesday

I figured it might be as long as a month. So, I already sat in a corner and thought about the augmentation of equipment that I already have.
Action plan:
1. I already would wash door handles, light switches, sink handles at home. Also the steering wheel, car door handles. Now I put the cleaning on a weekly basis. I went and bought another 2 gallons of isopropyl alcohol. It is cheap by the gallon and is the basis for most brand name household cleaners. I also put a pile of disposable gloves in the car. Gas pump handles are rarely cleaned and rarely sit more than a few minutes between customers.
2. I wasn't able to find all of the masks or the baby bottles. Supposedly n order of masks will be honored this month. The baby bottles are for lying in bed while drinking.
3. I am following the Georgia thing and any outbreak in the USA. When the bell rings, I will go to Costco and buy more disposable paper plates, paper bowls, cleaning components. I have always kept a month's supply on hand. However, I don't know who may show up on the doorstep. It might be the girlfriend's kids. You get the picture.
With 300,000 PRC nationals studying in the US, we missed a bullet for a while. Finals were in December before the big outbreak in the PRC and they had returned and were in school the first week of January 2020.
Some 60,000 people were tracked flying out of the epicenter and directly overseas after the initial problem was noticed.

See BD, this is what I'm saying; If the girlfriend's kids show up, paper plates are not gonna save you. Not opening the door is the correct answer....
If you will open the door, just wash the plates and your hands.
Plates to Dwash
Hands washed
You'll catch this beast from them being in the house - not their plates!
