Sorry it wasn't a better experience for you. Do you think the weather may have been a factor?
Well, the gun fired when I could get the trigger to work. The trigger on it is quirky. I don't think that's weather related. I need some more trigger time on it to really get a feel for it. As it stands now I just don't have confidence in it to make it run reliably.
"If I had that Escort shotgun and the G2, would I be happy? No. But I'd be safe, and that is what matters."
Well, I'm all in for getting the best bang for the buck and I can afford to experiment with different guns to try out. Kind of a minimalist thing... What's the cheapest you would go, have it work and feel safe. The Escort is set up the same at my Moss 500 and shoots the same. I doubt if given one or the other you'd be able to tell the difference between the two. So that ones a win. The jury is still out on the Taurus.
BTW, the store where I bought the G2c has the G3c on sale this week for $269. Maybe I should buy one of those to compare.

In for a penny, in for a pound

That’s a good price on the G3c. If you like it better than the G2C you can always sell it off. Or keep it and play around with it or even send it back to the mothership. Since it’s an extra the time factor at the factory wouldn’t be a big issue.

And...actually just got a notice that Taurus is offering a $25 mail in rebate on the G3c. That would put the price at $245.+ tax. And the G3c comes with 3 mags. Sale is only good for today & tomorrow, it's a 2 day flash sale.

Sweet. I’ll go out on a limb and predict you’ll like the G3c better than the G2C.

Yeah....Just got back from the store. With tax and after the rebate it will cost $261 & change.
Already like the trigger better, though I do like the sights better on the G2c.
One other thing I noticed when up at the house is that they fit in all my XD9 holsters as does my Tx22, so that's a bonus.

Some side x side comparisons between the G2c (top) and the G3c.
Obviously the sights and trigger are different. The G2c has 3 dot adjustable, the 3 has fixed rear, dot front. The trigger is wider on the 3.
The thumb scallops on the grip are slightly bigger on the 3 than on the 2.
The stippling on the 3 is a lot more aggressive/rougher than on the 2.
There is a serial number slot on the side of the receiver above the trigger and one in front of the trigger guard on the bottom of the frame on the 3. There is only one serial number on the bottom of the frame in front of the trigger guard. No idea why the 3 needs two serial number/slots, not to mention being stamped on the slide and barrel as well (as is the 2).
There as slide cuts on the front of the 3, not on the 2.

I ran into a problem with the G3c. It won't feed a round into the chamber whether ball or hollow point. I've tried all three mags as well as the two from the G2c (which fed everything BTW). Rounds would nose dive into the feed ramp and hang up.
The 2c barrel works fine in the 3c, no jamming. The 3c barrel FTFs in the 2c about half the time.
Interestingly the 3c slide/barrel fits and works on the 2c but the 2c slide doesn't fit on the 3c.

Well that sucks. And it’s how Taurus kinda shoots themselves in the foot sometimes. Shouldn’t be a problem on a new pistol.

I haven't tried to shoot the 3c yet, just been hand cycling. I'm going up to my new house next weekend and will try and shoot it then. May polish the feed ramp, clean it again to try and get it running before sending it back to Taurus. Very happy with the 2c, disappointed with the 3c.
