Yeah, I gots thoughts. I'll probably get one after the the 9mm. That is one of the appealing things about the .40 cal Glocks (or any modern .40 cal platform most likely)-- you are just a barrel change away from 2 other calibers. I have a good friend who loves 357Sig out of his Glock. If he isn't carrying his G43 he has his G32. And I have this thing about "complete" sets. If I get a 9mm barrel it will require a 357Sig barrel to complete the set. So, yeah, my personal idiosyncrasy will functionally force getting both barrels. Maybe not at the same time, but eventually.David wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 3:43 pmAny thoughts on a 357sig barrel? Although this isn't a primary caliber for me I have noticed that it's been available some places online and on Armslist for really about the same price as pre-panic. I've slowly started building up the stock for it as a tertiary caliber. I've got a 357sig barrel for both the USPc and the P2000. If I came across one for the G22 that was a deal I might pick that up as well just because.

Someone on GT just got a Gen 5 G22 and G23. The G23.5 with empty magazine weighs in at 26.7oz. My USPc in 40 S&W weighs 27.36 ounces with empty magazine. That is just over a half ounce difference. Considering the Glock has one additional round that should put the weight about even.
So that makes me feel pretty good about the choice of the HK. IIRC, I got the HK before I knew about the Gen 5's coming out in 40 S&W. I've always liked the G23 and it's probably my overall favorite Glock model. But with the weight begin pretty much identical I feel very good about the HK choice. Particularly since the HK has more of the features I prefer.

I'm actually considering another contender, the HK P30 in 40 S&W. The weight is slightly less than an ounce over the G23.5 so may as well say their equal. Also, the P30 is extremely comfortable to shoot due to the customizable side panels and back straps. Something to look into further. I've enjoyed the 9mm versions I've had in the past. A 40 S&W version along with a 9mm conversion barrel and RCM 357sig barrel would be the cat's meow.

Re: Gen 5 Glock 23 vs. HK USPc40 vs. HK P2000 40 S&W
In regards to Gen 5 Glock 23 vs. P2000 40 S&W:
Gen 5 Glock 23 w/loaded magazine is 34.36 ounces. 7.85 inches in length, 1.34 inches in width, 5.08 inches height.
HK P2000 w/loaded magazine is 32.76 ounces. 6.85 length, 5.07 height, 1.37 width.
So the HK P2000 is about an ounce and a half lighter, inch shorter in length, about the same height and width.
So for me, the HK P2000 is going to be an overall better choice than the Glock.
