Reality check
1. the PRC is an authoritarian state run by a coalition of family groupings that compete with each other - Communism is a facade.
2. the families in power have no more interest in jeopardizing their hold on power than any controlling people in any culture in the world.
3. try to go beyond "breaking news", "headline news", "talking heads", "anonymous sources", "usually reliable sources" and think before going hysterical or ranting.
4. No politician, news source, accomplished news consultant, five star television pundit has ever admitted being wrong since Geo Washington admitted cutting down the cherry tree. Even then, he complained that the axe was rusty.

China owns us already. Most people just don't know it.

Politicians - for whatever they are, are not stupid generally speaking. America was sold out to China decades ago. And when the pandemic hit - you saw it up close. But as BD mentions - our leaders are too worried about themselves to fix it.

Option 1: Do the hard thing, that will help America, but be really difficult, and make you very unpopular
Option 2: MAke millions off China and take care of yourself.

Not hard to see what will happen.
