TX22s

Post by Mac66 »

I shot the Taurus TX22s today. Had some issues with the mags not feeding rounds. It happened with the 16 rounders not the 10s. Other than that they are real nice pistols. Very accurate, very little recoil, very fun to shoot. I think they will make excellent training guns.

If you look through the slot just below the feed lips, you can see the rims of the next few rounds. Make sure the top rims are in front of the lower rims. I was able to predict jams by checking my buddy's mags before he shot.

Good to know.

I decided that I like the flat-faced trigger of the XL better than the curved trigger on the P365. To be clear, I like the curved trigger as well and it is an excellent trigger and fully functional. Did great at the Outlaw match. I just like the flat-faced trigger better. So I took the FCU out of the 'extra' XL that I bought for my wife to use as a night stand pistol and swapped it out for the FCU that was in my P365. She doesn't care one way or the other and the XL she has for the night stand just isn't going to see enough use for it to matter to her. This gives me a flat-faced trigger in both my carry XL and my carry P365. This gives me the same trigger set up in each of these EDC's.

I've been carrying the XL now for several months since I got it, and like it quite well. The new holster I got for it is better than the previous two holsters but it's not a 10 out of 10. And it is a bit wider and taller than the P365 holster. For summer I may find myself switching back and forth depending on what I'm wearing and my mood. Not an issue with both being essentially the same platform.

I may consider a comfortable IWB holster for the P365 that can accommodate it with the TLR-6 for when I have on a tighter shirt. Maybe. Something to at least consider.

Got the tippmann all set the way I like an AR.
Still got that great Hyperfire PDI trigger
Installed the 12" ultralight forearm
Added a steel comp for a touch of forward weight and to lose the birdcage, a BAD lever which makes showing clear much easier at matches, extended mag release, 60° safety selector, and CTR stock to make it just like my other ARs.
Shot another match with it today. Now have 400rds on it with exactly zero failures to fire, feed, extract, or eject. That's pretty damn impressive for a rimfire running bulk ammo. I'm excited to see how this thing holds up.

Another 30 flawless rounds last night in a little club fun stage. Now I'm just waiting to see how dirty it can get before choking. A brick of bulk rimfire is asking a lot in many guns.

I sold my LCP 2 with the intention of picking up an LCP Max. I normally wait a year on a new pistol design but I figured 'what the heck'. Picked one up this afternoon at a shop I normally deal with. $399 for the pistol. $467 OTD with an additional 12-rnd mag + tax + BG. Mag was $29 and change.

Put it on my scale. 10.2 ounces empty, 14.0 ounces with 13 rounds. So that's about 9 ounces lighter than the P365 I have been pocket carrying.

Impressed with the sights. Really is an improvement over the milled sights of the older versions. I was very pleased with how bright the front night sight was when I took it into a dark room. Eyes hadn't even adjusted yet and it was easily picked up.

Plan is to take it to the range tomorrow if my son can go. I could 'probably' load rounds into a mag with effort and pain but if he's available it would make it easier. I'm only a week past surgery on my wrist. Good chance for some one-hand shooting. I'll try to run FMJ & HP through it. I enjoyed the LCP 2 quite a bit so I'm hoping the Max runs great. If so I can foresee carrying it quite a bit.
