LAtest Gun Store Trip?

Post by Bob »

I was in Shoot Straight Tampa last weekend

Pistol cases devastated, rifle racks more than half empty, almost no ammo...
I get why ammo is hard to get back and has a long delay. But what is up with guns?

Ignoring the politics, when might we be expecting a return to something normal? Or close to it.

Ummm... $ > politics

Companies want to make money. That is what they buy politicians with? Democrats in power means fear of loss of guns, so panic buying should be going full tilt. Need stock to sell....

The last time I was in a "gun store" was the beginning of April last year. It was a Sportsmans Warehouse store where I went to pick up my second Keltec P17 I ordered. There was about an hour wait to get up to the counter. That was the first time in many years I had bought a gun through a store. It probably will be the last for many years.

As for when things will let up. Even my ultra liberal relatives have been asking me about buying guns ever since the riots in the fall. They are all for banning guns until they need one and then are surprised on what the have to go through to buy a handgun (if they can even find one). Things will only get worse for the next 4-8 years as the Democrats tighten the noose around the 2A.

My last trip to the gun store was probably 6 months ago. Just picked up a box or two of 45acp. Before that is the little hole-in-the-wall shop I've dealt with that has very reasonable prices, even in the current times.

Well the prices have officially hit the crazy-stupid level. Local BST sight has a HP C9 for $450

OK - went to a local shop yesterday.

The LCP $379 price seemed high, but they were stocked with guns. Ammo, not so much and $34 for 50 9mm Magtech - hell no!

Did you buy an LCP? That is a very high price. I paid just a tad over $300 for a new LCP II last summer at the Gas & Brass Armory over on Florida Ave. They are the ones that use to be R&R Sports. I've purchased several pistols from them over the last few years. Best prices I've seen in Tampa.
