Have you seen the Hardware the POLICE have? They could have toppled Saddam Hussein. So it is a "won't" or have been ordered "not" to.

And being an anarchist does not mean looting an burning. It means politically I want as little over-arching authority on my life as possible. Why? Because when Government is given that power they inevitably abuse and mis-handle it. And here you see it....

There IS a State control of the National Guard at some level, an ability to request it, and an excessive police for. So yeah...SOMEONE is letting it happen. And if that's how they role...yeah. Let them and don't be there.

There is a time to exercise our alleged 2nd amendment rights. But most people are waiting for .Gov to save them. And it isn't happening. Yet watch them vote for more...of the same.

Looks like both Chicago and New York being hit hard financially:

Chicago

Citing the “catastrophic collapse of our local and national economy” because of COVID-19 and damage to local businesses from civil unrest, Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Monday laid out a $1.2 billion shortfall for what she called Chicago’s “pandemic budget” in 2021.

Filling the historic deficit will likely require personnel cuts and could lead to layoffs, and the mayor promised to use a TIF surplus and consider a computer lease tax as other potential measures. Lightfoot made no mention of a possible property tax hike in her remarks.

Asked afterward for specifics about cuts or taxes, Lightfoot said that “all options are on the table,” though property taxes and job cuts are at the back of her list.

House for sale by the Mayor
Zestimate
$464,229

Zestimate Range
$399,000 - $543,000

Last 30 Day Change
-$37,790 (-7.5 %)

3434 W Wrightwood Ave, Chicago, IL is a single family home that contains 1,381 sq ft and was built in 1895.

It contains 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The Zestimate for this house is $464,229, which has decreased by $37,790 in the last 30 days.

New York

New York City may lay off tens of thousands of municipal workers. Even with this massive downsizing, it won’t be enough to stem the financial hemorrhaging plaguing the city.

The Wall Street Journal reported that roughly 22,000 government workers need to be let go to close a $9 billion deficit that continues to grow.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said about the dire situation, “Here is a way to think about it—for every hundred million dollars in city budget—that’s about 2,200 city employees, on average.” He added, “To close a $1 billion dollar gap would mean laying off 22,000 city employees, which is a staggering number.” New York has about 330,000 municipal workers.

It's up to the electorate to decide what they want in November...

It's up to Oligarchs to decide what the electorate gets - either way.

Meanwhile...

More food, more meds, better security, better situational awareness! Hygiene, hygiene, hygiene.
And getting fit! Cold, Flu, & Corona...

Been stocking up on all the things I depleted in the last 6 months.

More canned goods. Deepening it back to 6 or so months. Have Fish and Moose in the freezer.
2 additional methods of heating small rooms in the home if Power or NG are no longer options.
Replaced some old and worn out camping gear.
More ammo. This one is a toss up as I also dug out the single stage reloader.
Meds, thank goodness I do not need any other than general vitamin C and D3. Will get a 90 day supply of each at the store this weekend.

Had a few Boo boo kits arrive and replaced the ones in the car and refilled my Tackle Box/personal home first aid kit.

Purchased new cold weather boots and Socks. (It is a bi-yearly thing here in the true north, wait people live that far north? North.)

Not supper worried about things. Did put some marker tape on trees color codding for distance. Golf range finders are a fun toy to have. :)

Sorry Winter is almost here and we have termination dust on the tops of mountains already.

We have decided to make a few additional preparations at the farm in case we need to get out of town.

We don't keep food at the farm house to reduce mice, but are taking some freeze dried food in containers to provide us a place if we need to go to that is out of town, but not out of area. I don't like the idea of bugging out to an area I don't know.
