Preparations for October-November

Post by Bob »

So, as we approach the Fall, there are some obvious things we need to be ready for:

#1 Post election unrest
#2 Flu + Corona
#3 End of Hurricane season in the south
#4 Potential Financial fallout from Corona

What are you thinking, or what are your key TO DO's for the upcoming season?

I have talked with the wife and with my dad, working on scheduling doctor's appointments before the election and to be prepared to avoid St. Louis.

Both the wife and I have our annual check ups scheduled in October and will get meds refilled and will get the flu shot. In addition, we have stocked up on vitamins and supplements that we use and some that are for treating the flu (Zinc based ones).

End of September/start of October, we will go through and switch supplies out in the vehicles and get everything ready for winter. The generators will be ran and serviced so they will be ready. Gas cans will all be cycled. I will wait till after November for the tractor service just because I have a free service coming and they will do that after fall harvest.

Most of our supplies we are trying to replace them as they are used up so we keep our levels stocked in case we would become sick and couldn't go to the store for a few weeks.

Financially, we have paid off most things, doubled the amount that we are putting in savings each week. We are working towards having 6 months supply of cash in the bank in case we would get sick and couldn't work for an extended period. Although, we have insurance both short term and long term to cover, I feel better relying on myself.

I think that, unfortunately, is a given. Trump will win re-election. What remains of the left and their militant arms (Antifa & BLM) will go nuts in major cities. It's possible that they will make attempts to go even further into residential areas than they have.

Covid will disappear from the MSM reporting the day after the election, at least for the most part. It is a virus with a 99.85% survival rate. Flu may take a dip because of all the cleaning going on in public areas. We'll have to see how that plays out.

The market has already come back in large part. It may take a small dip or two around election time but then it will take back off like a rocket.

This time period is the 'relative' calm before the storm (which is now upon us, and I'm not talking weather). Time to restock up anything that is lacking. There will be increased violence, unfortunately, prior to and just after the election. Likely up till the inauguration.

Talking with the owner of a local gun shop, he stated that Federal is currently out of primers and many foundry's are out of brass to make cases. So again, my prediction is that it's going to be into the second quarter next year before the supply surpasses the demand and things start to return to normal. Normal will be when a 50 round box of 9mm FMJ is $8 or less again.

I'm "ok" with 9mm at $25/50 at the moment....but my patience for that is mighty thin.

It won't be $8 for 50 EVER again. I'm calling a low of $10 for 50 at best. except maybe Tula or whatever steel crap is out there.

To be honest - we all have enough ammo to survive two elections and three Pandemics w/ riots in a row for the next three months.

Not so sure about that. We have been in Covid mode for far too long.

Trump totally called the economic policies of Obama for what they were. But the second he even thought of upping the interest rate WHAM - instant backlash and he has not messed with it again and won't.

He has been pumping air in to the balloon - complete opposite of his pre-election talk. And the Dems know it.

I could be wrong....
