I actually kinda agree with that.

Between my 500 and my 535 and an assortment of shot from Bird to Brennekke....I'm good with that.

But I CHOOSE to have considerably more.

I kinda want a modern PCC but I have a 30 year old UZI I built from parts and a bunch of mags. It shoots well but I don't really have any use for it. Probably been 10+ years since I shot it.

I find the only PCC I shoot at all is a ruger 10/22. It kind of fills the need to have something and its cheap(er) to shoot. I have one by the backdoor at my woods house for grab and go or for woodchuck wars. It is something my wife feels comfortable with as home protection as well.

Still have my two Sub 2k's. Thinking about upgrading them with Mcarbo parts. My nephew upgraded his and it's pretty sharp.

And I still have a hankering for either a 4095TS or 4595TS from Hi Point. The 995TS is still going strong and I really enjoyed the 4095TS I had previously. Very comfortable to shoot.

While not sexy, not a thing wrong with the Keltech or HiPoints.

If there was a decent after market 25rd mag, I'd get a Hipoint too!

The only real criticism I hear on the HP carbines is the 10-round mag. Red Ball makes 20-round mags for it but I've heard enough mixed reviews that I wouldn't trust them for anything other than plinking. HP sells a mag holder that attaches to the stock of the carbine so you have an extra mag on each side. So you have 10+1 in the carbine and 20 more rounds right on the stock. 31 rounds is a decent HD platform, especially since it will likely be paired with a hi-cap pistol.

The Sub 2k has the advantage of using Glock mags. They are available to use either G19 or G17 mags. So 50 - 70% more ammo available.

Pros and cons. The HP is definitely easier to shoot. Much less recoil, and very comfortable for someone that isn't use to firearms or is recoil sensitive. It weight 7lbs so it does a good job soaking recoil. The sights are actually just fine. And it's easy to mount a light, laser, scope or whatever if you wanted to put lip stick on the pig.

The Sub 2k really needs that Mcarbo recoil wrap on the buffer tube. Otherwise it's your bare check on bare metal and it gets uncomfortable pretty quick. The recoil tube wrap helps a bit. And of course the ability to fold it up so that it can fit in a back pack is nice.

I know of one actual shooting where the HP 995TS was used in a HD situation against three home invaders. All caught on camera. Husband was out of town, wife with two infants at home. Three armed thugs kicked in the back door and entered. She heard the kicking and retrieved the 995 from the top shelf of her closet and took position at the top of the stairs. When they came in she opened fire. Didn't hit any of them but it sent them flying out the back door. One actually stopped and started to go back in but she popped off some more rounds and he fled. From what I read they were picked up shortly thereafter by Police.

If I heard the door being kicked in and I had either one close at hand I'd have no issue with using either. I've shot them enough to know they work and work well.

I just can't believe there is no after-market group making a 15, 20, 25, or 30 round mag for the Hipoint. They would make a pile of money.

Hipoint would make a pile of money for that matter.

Just remembered I also have a Mech Tech CCU (Carbine Conversion Unit) which is an upper for a 1911 .45. They now make them for Glocks. KInd of fun to shoot, virtually no recoil. Mine is very accurate.

https://mechtechsys.com

Here are my UZI and CCU. Newer versions of the CCU come with an AR stock not the wire stock mine came with.
The problem with the 1911 is mag capacity is limited. The CCU cost about $400ish but the benefit is if you already have a 1911 or Glock, or a Glock frame, you don't need an FFL transfer since you're just buying the upper.

Here's newer pic up the CCU with a AR carbine stock and a cheap red dot.

And BTW, I've since changed my CCU to use an AR carbine stock long before MechTech brough theirs out. LIke I said it's fun and easy to shoot. Just not enough capacity. (I bought mine back when I had an FFL and got it for dealer price about 25 years ago). I think it was about $170 back then.

Going to have to drag it and the UZI out and run them up at the woods house.

There is one. Redball makes 20 round mags for them.
