My mother died this morning. She was 97.
She's been on hospice care for the last couple of months so was slowly winding down. She also has been wheelchair bound for the last couple months as well. I did see her Wed & Thursday last week and while noticeably weaker was in good spirits, fully aware and coherent. Took a turn for the worse last Friday night. I was with her all day yesterday (monday) from about 10 am until 11pm after hospice nurse called and said she had declined significantly since Saturday. I left about 11 pm when my sister relieved me to stay with her and called about 5:30 this morning and said she died peacefully in her sleep.
She's at peace now, no more worries or tribulations.

A man cannot call himself peaceful if he is not capable of violence. If he's not capable of violence he isn't peaceful, he is harmless. There is a distinct difference.

She had a good long life. It is a relief to know she is now at peace.
