Re: Your EDC folding pocket knife
Congratulations on your retirement! The Endura 4's are great knives. I have a FRN plain edged Endura 4 Wave (which pops the blade open when you draw it from your pocket) in VG10 and a Pacific Salt (based on the Endura 3) full serrated in rust proof H1 steel...holds an edge a good long time, but I do...

Re: Flashlights for extended power outages
I made them myself with 3D printing. I started to sell them on the bay and I still have a few left, but I don't know when or if I will be making anymore because I don't have access to a 3D printer at the moment.

Re: New Knife Day
I was a big fan of the old Gerber LST folding knives back in the 80's and 90's (before I got into Spyderco), I liked that they were full flat ground and lighter than the typical Buck knives that were the thing back then. I have some of the Gerber/Fiskars folding saws – the ones made in Finland or th...

Re: New York and Shelter In Place / Corona
So many comments here: #1 Cuomo telling El Presidente how to run the country, as if the majority of the world thinks like he does - Which is what that mindset is #2 How quickly they went to that solution - As of necessary or enforceable #3 How enforceable is that - Here is why you have you militari...

Re: Knife selection for home defense
I only use my knives/edged tools for utility purposes as there are better options for self defense, but in much of the third world just about everyone has a cheap razor sharp machete that they know how to use to protect themselves with if need be. I don't have one but, I think something like a Asseg...

Re: Your EDC multi-tool
I have a few multitools, mostly Letherman but the one I carry the most on my belt is the Leatherman Wave. I started with the original when it first came out than switched to the “new” Wave, which was an improvement in almost every way, except that it wouldn’t fit in the old Bianchi Acu Mold sheath t...

Re: Bang for the buck
Don't count out the newer Maglite LEDs. The ML25's(C cell twisties) are great for general use at around $20 and the ML50's (C cell) and Ml300's (D cell)are great valuers as well. The ML50's and ML300's have electronic switches, programmable function sets, very good heat sinking and a quick focus sys...

Re: Flashlights for extended power outages
I picked up a Maglight ML25 yesterday at Wal-Mart. It was on clearance for $15 so I snatched it up (there was only one.) It does have the high and low modes. The low mode is quite generous lumen-wise (or so it seems) and is plenty for routine use in lights-out conditions. It is now the nightstand l...
