PCC, Main gun, and concealed. Excellent little trio in a very handy, popular and flexible caliber.

Someone on GT say EAA Windicator, and it comes in Stainless. Wayyy under the radar and I'm so tired of Smith fanboys. Never heard of this.

The Windicator was always the example gun for Gun Tests magazine. I remember reading about parts falling off.

I do like 38/357 combos though. I'm not a lever guy so I want a 77/357 and a 686 or GP100.

Yeah, well, most gun rags being sponsored in some way by Smith, Rufger, Remington, etc....no surprise.

The intarwebz disagree however. Cheap and not "high" quality? Yes. But reliability was not a problem that was ever mentioned.

I know you're looking for a revolver, but just tossing out getting a 357sig barrel for your G23. Doesn't use the same ammo of course, but would make your G23 a 2-on-1 pistol and give you a round in the neighborhood of the 357 magnum.

Probably pick one up for around $100 give or take.

Speaking of 357 mags. A friend gave me an H&R Handy Rifle barrel in 357 mag a few years ago. I fit it to one of my H&R single shotgun frames. The guy he got it from had cut it down to 15 1/2" making it illegal to use on a rifle. My friend made a barrel extension out of a flash hider and welded it on it to bring it back up to legal length i.e, 16".

Since I've been reloading during the virus I've been taking loads to the cabin and testing them on my chronograph. The loads typically run about 300 FPS faster through the rifle barrel than through the 4 and 6" barrels of my Dan Wesson revolver.



Even though the rifle is short and compact the barrel is quite heavy. Even the heaviest handloads are mild to shoot through it. Not sure what I'm ever going to use it for but testing handloads it is kind of fun to shoot. Sometimes though I do have trouble seeing the sights these days. May have to mount a scope on it.

One thing I forgot to mention is that it has an ejector that flings the empty shells out when your open the action.

The H&R shown below with a 20 ga barrel mounted with 12 ga below and the rifle barrel on the bottom.

Again speaking of the 357 mag. I always wanted a lever action Model 94 Marlin in 357 mag. I asked a friend if he had one, he sold me my Mod 94 Marlin in 44 mag several years ago. He said no but he did have a IMI Timberwolf pump action 357 he's sell me. It is buried in his basement somewhere. When he finds it we'll make a deal. Kind of a cool gun. Only imported for a couple years and has a take down stock.

In other news I ran across a Ruger Security Six in stainless for trade on a local forum. A stainless Security Six 4" was the first magnum revolver I ever owned back in 77. I carried it on duty in a small police department where we had to buy our own guns. Couldn't afford a S&W at the time. I eventually sold it which I regret. I'm trying to come up with an equitable deal to get this thing. A blast from the past.

Updated: A deal was struck. I'm meeting the guy this morning for the swap.

Deal's Done. Kinda wish it was a 4" but I'm very HAPPY! Can't wait to try out my 357 handloads in it when I go back up to the cabin in couple days.

Any thoughts on this Bob? You've got the G23 already, just need the conversion barrel.
