Not always. There is age (in both directions) to consider as well as medical conditions.

If it is...great. Don't hang your hat on it being that way though. After a storm/natural disaster you're going to have down trees, downed power lines, washed out bridges, landslides etc.

Again, not against any type of 'pull' prep. But honestly, it's not at the top of my list of reasonable considerations. For the most part, in this country, it's unnecessary. Thankfully.

That's all part of the equation in making the decision to stay or go.

I'll say again

Stay vs Go: If you are going you need to go BEFORE everyone else. If you don't, you need to be ready to stay.

Staying after you should have went, or going when you should have stayed is almost NEVER a good idea. Be decisive, make the call, and then move or don't!

And often there are factors that make the decision for you.

Agreed. HArd to leave before the earthquake if you don't know it will happen.

As for the invasion....saw that coming a mile a way. I'd have had reservations at the Krakow Days in every week...

Just watched a great show totally fiction but it mentioned traveling, and what we bring with us,

1883 It is supposed to be around the time of the Oregon trail. Has some good points and some bad. People trying to bring things that they do not need and things that just about got them killed.

I am by no means an expert on what to bring or leave. I do like the idea that I have a bike and kiddo trailer and use it 1-2 times a year to haul things around. I will say that as I am getting not any younger that solar panels and an Ebike are looking better the more I think about it.

I have no plans to migrate if things do go sideways. It may even mean my end. So Bugging in for me may be my only option if I can not get out well before things get bad enough that I have to walk out.
