Andro PA panels

Post by IKV Avenger »

We'll use the Intruder as an example which has 8 panels in front, 6 in the rear and 8 batteries holding 40 points of power.

A standard panel holds 6 points of power each, a reinforced panel holds 10 points of power each.

The Intruder receives 80 points of damage on the front panels. This requires raising the panels from STANDARD to REINFORCED to absorb the damage. Damage is resolved as follows:
  • Degradation of 20% = 16 points of degradation on the panels. This reduces the capacity of the panels from 80 to 64 (at reinforced levels) or from 48 to 32 (at standard levels). This leaves 64 points to apply.
  • The volley exceeded 3 points per panel AND the panels were reinforced so the last point of the volley is LEAK damage and applied internally. (D10.331) This leaves 63 points filling the front panels.
Removing energy from panels (at the end of the turn D10.411):
  • D10.411 - 10% of energy may be transferred to batteries. In this case 6 points may be transferred to batteries (6.3 rounded down). This leaves 57 points of power in the front panels.
  • D10.412 - One point per panel can be dissipated into space. This is 8 points dissipated. This leaves 49 points of power in the front panels.
Releasing energy from panels:
  • Further energy can be released. Drop panels from reinforced to standard levels. The front panels are only able to hold 32 points at standard levels due to the degradation. Their is currently 49 points of power in the front panels so per D10.424 option #3, 17 points are transferred to the rear panels which can hold 36 points of power. So the front panels are now at 32 points of power and the rear panels are at 17 points of power.
  • Turn front panels off. This releases 32 points of power to the rear panels. The rear panels can only hold 19 points of power so they are filled up to the full 36 points of energy. This leaves 11 points which, according to D10.424 option #4 get transferred to the batteries (assuming there is room).
  • Turn front panels back on, they are now empty and can accept 32 points at standard or 64 points at reinforced. Rear panels are full at 36 points and can at the end of the next turn remove 4 points to the batteries and dissipate 6 points to space leaving 22 points in the rear panels.
Panels can be changed from standard to reinforced or vice versa on any impulse and have to stay that way for 8 impulses before another change.
