I don't really think you "must add" a light on your rifle unless you search and clear buildings for a living. In 45 years of carrying a gun (36 in law enforcement) I never needed or used a weapon mounted light.

Probably don't need optics 99.9% of the time either. Nice to have but definitely not a "must add". Iron sights work fine out to a couple hundred yards. Best to keep things simple on a fighting rifle. Unless of course you hunt with your rifle, then optics are handy. A sling, yes.

Feel free to add anything you like on your weapons but "must add?" Uh...no.

All fighting long gun should have a sling and light.
Everything else is just good to have or it's just extra weight.
