Collecting Flashlights

Being active in the flashlight world for years, I've had many light from most of the big brands. I know I've spent way too much on lights that ended up not getting used often(looking at you $600 Surefire Foregrip light).
I've never seen anything like these Olight collectors. They will pay double or triple retail to get the one color of light they missed and need for their complete set. Whether it's I5Ts, S1RIIs, or Seeker 2s, they want ever color and material. They don't even use them. Many just display them or have custom cut pelican cases full.
I love Olight and think they are making some of the best lights currently, but try to only buy lights that fill a role. Some redundancy occurs, but never 10-12 of the same light.
With the advancement in flashlight tech we've seen in recent years, these collections are going to be old tech very soon and virtually worthless.
Anyone else not understand this collector mentality?
