Your Perfect Home Defense Gun
#1
What about it makes it your choice? Also include brands, ammo types, features and customs that make it more handy/lethal when the time comes use it.

Lone Wolf G9 5" SBR.

Compact, lightweight, high capacity, quiet(especially with Liberty Mystic attached).

Aimpoint T1 makes it fast up close and chest accurate at 200 yards.

Any good defense loads are fine with me.

Had to put some thought into this poll.  My Glock 23 .40S&W is my night stand gun loaded with 165g PDX1.  That is my first go-to defense weapon in situations that call for it.  I use the Niteize glow-in-the-dark sites that I energize before going to bed.

However, if I had the time I'd access my Mossberg 500P.  I have this set up with pistol grip and side saddle which gives my 7 in the tube and 6 in the side saddle for 13 rounds.  In the tube I have Federal low recoil 00 buck 9 pellet which should be more manageable with the pistol grip.  In the side saddle I have a 3 Remington Express 00 Buck and 3 Remington Slug.  I feel this gives me several options depending on the situation.  Attached to the front of the Mossberg is a universal light mount with a Convoy S2+ 7135*4 using a Samsung 2600mAh 18650 battery.

So I choose the 12g in the poll.

This is very true.

I'm leaning towards the 12 GA. Reasonable shot distance with buckshot and will drop what it hits. I'd like to find a mount for a flashlight. Blinding strobe light in your face knowing a loaded gun is aimed towards you might make someone reconsider their intentions.Plus, I could be wrong, but think the sound of chambering a round is intimidating enough.

Here is what I bought with the recommendation from my brother who uses the same thing.

I also put an industrial strength shell side saddle on it that holds 6 extra rounds.  This isn't wimpy Velcro, you'd have to pry it off, so it will hold up well.

Btw, that saddle I linked above is customizable to you SG.  And it is linked so you can have 2, 4 or 6 shells mounted.  Snug fit so they don't fall out but not so snug you can't easily slide them out.  Pretty much perfect as is.

You sir officially suck, really though my hd weapon is 600lbs of Mastiff,if by some miracle they get by them they are really screwed. We had an attempted h/i years ago, they shot at my dogs then left. Our SD caught them later that night trying yet again. We are armed at home 24/7.We prefer mossy 500/590s to repel all boarders. After that event my .5 installed cameras that recorded and had the ability ta send a cell signal,we have a dvr and the streams can be sent to the "cloud" wtf that is.'08.

Do you have tritium in yer buis,I'm debating putting them on our ARs.'08.
If you look like food, you will be eaten.

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
