Amazon

Amazon has four peanut lighters for sale for only $6.93.  That's a pretty good deal.  This is the same type I've been using for over a year.  You will probably have to change out the O-ring for a better one but that's about it.

LED lantern deal of the day. $7.99. Good reviews

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q8HN...pldnSite=1

Edited to add... I bought two of the above lanterns on sale and they work well. Will have to see how they hold up over the long run.

The same lantern is marketed under a number of other names. They appear to all be the same lantern with a different name. Difference in price seems to be based on whether it comes with batteries or not.

They can be found here. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B018A6Q8JM?psc=1 and here...

22 Issues of Self Reliance Illustrated on PDF

For only $3.99

This is the now defunct Self Reliance Illustrated Magazine.  Several of us here were members of that board until it closed down.  At four bucks this is WELL worth it!  A lot of articles from real people doing real things.  I've got them all and recommend them highly.

Wish they were still making them.

Just made a couple of Ebay purchased to up my prep supplies.

Lot of THREE 2023 Israeli 6" Abdominal Wound Dressing Compression Bandage

Already had one of these but wanted to get some additional ones for the GHB's.  Thought this was a great price with two lots left.  Vendor shipped out quick and they arrived quick.

Sawyer Mini Water Filter Filtration System

Put a post about these in the 'Water' section.  Great vendor that same day shipped and they arrived sooner than I thought.  Hard to beat these filters.  He's got 2 or 3 colors available.

Adventuridge Rechargeable LED Camping Lantern

12 LED All-Purpose Solar Lantern

Bought this a while back from HFT.  I've actually been fairly impressed with it.  IIRC I took this to our last SEP gathering.  It isn't as bright as the rechargeable above, but it is bright enough that you could find your way around the house (inside or outside) with relative ease.  I mainly purchased because it's solar powered and that makes it as easy as sitting in the sun to charge up.

I've been into lanterns lately, not just for camping but for power outages and such.  Fortunately we don't have very many in our area but I felt it was an area to take a look at and put some depth into.  I've got a couple of battery operated ones that are nice and do a great job but felt that I needed some back up that didn't require D batteries.  HFT also has a hand crank lantern and that may be my next purchase.  States 60 seconds of cranking gives 20 minutes of light.  Not bad.

Seems like a pretty neat idea if you don't have the room or resources for a large crop. I'm considering getting a few myself.

CDNN is having another sale on Walther firearms (and other brands as well).  Here's an example of a .40 S&W for $279:

Just a heads up, pre fall is a good time for good deals on hunting guns.

I don't know if you have a Dunhams Sports near you but if you do, you might want to take a look...

If you are looking for a great little .22 rifle Dunhams has the Marlin 795 on sale this weekend for about $108 after factory rebate. That's the cheapest I've seen them in 5 years. 10 shot semi auto, very accurate. A great bang for the buck. Throw a sling and cheap scope on it and take to Appleseed. Throw some Tech Sights on it and it makes a great little training, hunting, do everything rifle.

The last time they were this cheap I bought two of them. One is my truck gun.  Here is a series of review of it as I made it into a grab and go do everything rifle.

They also have the Remington 597 heavy barrel for $200. Another 10 shot semi auto. These are extremely accurate rifles. I bought one the last time they were this price and it is more accurate than my custom built $700+ 10/22. Probably the most accurate rifle for the money there is.

My review of the 597 is here as well...
