Limitations and firearms
#1
Sitting here with my broken hand (which has started aching worse the last couple of days) has gotten me thinking about the limitations that come with the injury.  Whether or not one cares for Israeli-carry, the one-handed drills taught in the system (and other systems also) is invaluable at times such as this.  I could maybe pull out a mag if necessary, but there is likely no way I could rack the slide right now.  So having the training to reload, chamber and clear malfunctions is quite comforting right now.

I have gone to carrying my G26 more now than I was simply because with an Xgrip it hold double the rounds of my LC9s.  Trying to mitigate having to perform any extra manipulations if possible in the event of an emergency.

I taught my kids to rack slide on edge of a table, chair, wall whatever....

What does Israeli say about that situation?

I'm imagining Dave testing the strike plate on the door with his hand....

The go-to is the belt or pocket.  But anything that works.  Reloading is taught using the behind-the-knee method.
