Appreciate the update.  

I did that once with my Nitecore EA11.  Only in my case I had hit the side switch and it came on in turbo mode and got hot quick!  From then on I twist the end cap just slightly which disengages the whole thing.  No accidental activation and it also preserves the battery.  I can go for months and months without having to charge it up.  When I twist the end cap back it has a voltage indicator so I know what level it's at.  Really holds a charge that way.

Take a look in the Packs and Gear section for my thread on the pocket clip.  They're less than a dollar on Ebay and are the best thing since sliced bread.
